Summer … what a great time to experience the wonderful things the Triangle has to offer. In addition to all the exciting events described in the “Out and About” article, here are a few suggestions for some great summer family fun and entertainment. 

Music & Movies at the NC Museum of Art
Grammy-winning artists highlight this summer’s Music & Movies series. Visitors can bring a picnic, relax under the stars, and enjoy some of the best and most affordable summer entertainment in the Triangle. Wake Forest 4th of July Fireworks
A beautiful fireworks display, Band of Oz, sky divers, Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty … all to help you celebrate the 4th of July! 
July 3, 2005, Gates open at 5:30 – Wake Forest-Rolesville High School Stadium. $5 (children 6 and under are free) 

54th North State Toy & Hobby Show
More than 265 tables with 100 exhibitors will be selling antique to modern toys, including Barbie, die cast models, NASCAR, and more.
July 2-3, 2005 – NC State Fairgrounds

Wake Forest Children’s Walking Parade
1200-1500 children dressed in patriotic costumes participate.
July 4, 2005, Line-up at 10 a.m. – Historic North Main St.

July 4th Celebration
Free rides, games, and entertainment, as well as a great fireworks show.
July 4, 2005, Fireworks at 9:15 – NC State Fairgrounds

“You Won’t Forget This Fest”

Free watermelon slices, recipes, watermelon eating contest, a visit from the Watermelon Queen, and much more!

Sportscard – Coin & Sports Memorabilia Show
Sportscards, coins, and other collectibles will be available. Features a free autograph session (Saturday, 12 noon-2 p.m.) with NBA standout and NC State star Tommy Burleson (1974 Championship Team).

Fall Power and Sailboat Show and Sale
North Carolina’s largest boat clearance sale. More than 30 dealers offering 2005 closeouts and a sneak preview of 2006 products.

Carolina Reptile & Exotic Animal Show
All exotic pets, birds, and reptiles offered at wholesale prices. Exotic animal petting zoo, amazing pet trick contest, animal shows on stage, seminars, camel rides, pony rides, clowns, and face painting.
