The cooler weather is finally here … Halloween is right around the corner, Thanksgiving menus are being planned, and Christmas shopping has begun. This season offers so many exciting and fun events for you and your family to enjoy. In addition to those featured in the “Out & About” article on page 6, we suggest you put the following events on your calendar this fall!

“Masquerade Massacre”
Prepare to be scared! Consistently voted the Triangle’s best haunted house, “Masquerade Massacre” is sponsored by the Raleigh Jaycees. Proceeds benefit multiple community projects.
October 21-31, 2005 – 2501 Capital Blvd.
*Kiddie Days: Bring your youngsters to trick-or-treat through the Haunted House ... no scares.
Saturday, October 23 & Sunday, October 24 (2 p.m.-5 p.m.)

Haunted Mordecai
The spooks will be out at Mordecai Historic Park on Halloween weekend as the folks from Haunted NC talk about real ghosts of Raleigh and Mordecai’s own ghost sightings. Learn how this organization uses modern technology to capture images and sounds of the paranormal.
October 29, 2005, 5 p.m.-10 p.m. (Tours begin on the hour.)

2005 International Festival
This festival features international foods, cultural exhibits, demonstrations, a world bazaar, ethnic dancing and music, and the Biergarten.
November 4-6, 2005 – NC State Fairgrounds

Carolina Christmas
Holiday shopping for the entire family – over 500 exhibitors, entertainment, delicious foods, handcrafted items, Santa Claus, and more.
November 7-9, 2005 – RBC Center

Raleigh Christmas Parade
Raleigh’s annual Christmas parade, with bands, floats, and more.
November 19, 2005 – Starts at the corner of Hillsborough St. and St. Mary’s St.

Christmas Carousel Holiday Festival
A complete holiday experience for the entire family, featuring live holiday music, Santa, and cooking demonstrations, as well as original artwork and crafts, Christmas decorations, prints, pottery, candle making, jewelry, and more.
November 25-27, 2005 – NC State Fairgrounds

Cowboy Christmas Pro Rodeo & Gift Show Extravaganza
This rodeo features bronco riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, cowgirls’ barrel racing, breakaway roping, and wild bull riding. The Christmas Show features unique vendors offering gift merchandise and crafts, daily visits from Santa, and pony rides and mechanical bull rides.
December 9-11, 2005 – NC State Fairgrounds

Wake Forest Christmas Parade
Show off your holiday spirit in the annual Wake Forest Christmas Parade. Held each year on the second Saturday of December, the parade is produced by the Wake Forest Junior Women’s Club and the Wake Forest Downtown Revitalization Corporation.
December 10, 2005 – Downtown Wake Forest
