Explore The Expo
By Tresa Jalot
For one day, Wake Forest will have its very own indoor mall … sort of. At the 10th Annual Community Business EXPO, sponsored by CT Communications, more than 70
businesses and organizations will be gathered at The Factory in Wake Forest.
There’s a reason “community” is in the name of this event. Most of the participants are local small business owners who also live in your community. They enjoy doing business the “small town” way and strive to make their customers – who are also their neighbors – happy.
Yes, this is a marketing opportunity for the exhibitors. They want to show off the goods and services they have to offer. But it’s also a great chance for consumers to do some comparison shopping. Spending a little time at the EXPO could save you a lot of money later. For instance:
• Do you want to get a better interest rate on your savings account? Well, just about every bank in the area will be represented at the EXPO and they’re competing for your business.
• Is there a restaurant you’ve wanted to try? You’ll have the chance to sample menus from nearly a dozen local restaurants.
• Are you new to the area and haven’t found a doctor or dentist? Many of them will be there in person to talk to you about your family’s health needs.
As you visit each booth, in many cases you’re talking directly to the actual business owners. They enjoy meeting their customers face-to-face – and would love to hear what you think. How often do you get that kind of access to decision-makers?
Best of all, if you like free stuff and the chance to win prizes, then you will absolutely love the EXPO. Many of the exhibitors are raffling off door prizes and the Wake Forest Chamber will give away a $500 gift certificate to Lowe’s Home Improvement.
Community Business EXPO 2005 is organized by the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by CT Communications. It will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 4 p.m.– 8 p.m. at The Factory. It is free and open to the public. For more information, go to www.wakeforestchamber.org and click on the Events page, or call the Chamber of Commerce at 556-1519.
